Time for Cake

Cake Collage

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Those darn storm clouds kept lingering around Vancouver’s skies with intermittent showers all weekend long! Hopefully you didn’t let them dampen your spirits. I felt kind of lazy this weekend and hobbled about Fri-Sun with a sprained left ankle. A little bit of an embarrassing story.. I fell down at the dog park mid ball-fling when I stepped into a mystery hole.

Alas I took things slowly all weekend long with a relaxed family picnic at the Folk Fest on Friday night and enjoyed a leisurely (*read: 7 hr) commute to my favourite place on Sunday afternoon. It was all worth it once I saw the familiar island views again. Sometimes these bumps and hurdles in our day plans are a good practice for patience. Hope you had a weekend of relaxation too. :)

Lemon Curd Cake

To give you a little bit of an update– over the spring 2016 to present day I went a little cake crazy. I think that I baked a cake a week since April. Seriously though… it got so bad that my best friend threatened to pose and intervention to confiscate my Kitchen Aid… !  The above photos are examples of some of the cakes that I will share in the weeks ahead! It’s time to reminisce the best-of-the-best recipes and share some of the delicious cake treats with you all.

And that’s all for now! I hope you have a great day filled with friends, a delicious treat and some beautiful Vancouver sunshine.  Talk soon… :)

Love,

Blue Owl
